Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the family rate?
A: Children (under 18) attend the conference for just $25, with no additional cost for them to stay with their parents in the hotel room.
Q: How many children can stay in a hotel room with their parents?
A: Up to four children can stay in the hotel room for no additional charge. Standard rooms are average size hotel rooms, and will have either two double beds or a king size bed and a pull-out couch.
Q: Will there be any childcare available?
A: Yes. A nursery for children ages birth through three will be staffed during all sessions, and additional childcare will be provided for kids ages 4-8. Children will have age-appropriate Bible lessons, singing, and crafts during all sessions.
Q: What will children do who are not eligible for childcare?
A: They will need to attend the sessions, or other arrangements will need to be made.
Q: What does "double occupancy" mean?
A: Double occupancy means that two people must stay in a hotel room to get that rate.
Q: What's the full-conference rate for singles who want to stay by themselves?
A: $275 for standard accommodations during early registration. We will be happy to take requests for roommates as we are able, but please put in your request early.
Q: Where is the conference held?
A: Ocean City Baptist Church is the host church. Its facilities are centrally located, sitting just two blocks from downtown shopping and two blocks from the boardwalk and beach.
Q: Is it possible to get a discounted rate on the hotel if I want to come early or stay late?
A: Yes. We have negotiated special rates at the hotels if you would like to come early or stay late. Each hotel has its own special rates, so you'll have to contact us after you've registered to find out which hotel you're staying in; then you'll contact that hotel directly to make arrangements.
Q: I'm a pastor. Can I get a promotional packet for my church?
A: Yes. We have posters and registration flyers available. Contact us and let us know how many you would like.
Q: What is Ocean City like in September?
A: Ocean City is a resort town that is quiet in the winter, busy in the summer, and perfect in September. Most of the crowds are gone after Labor Day, but the stores are still open, and the weather is usually beautiful. The average high is 77, and the average low is 56. The water is still nice, too, with surf temperature in the low 70's.
Q: What else makes Ocean City unique?
A: Ocean City was founded by Christian pastors who originally designed the island to be a Christian retreat center. While that is no longer true today, the town still has a very family-friendly atmosphere. Part of this is due to the fact that Ocean City is a "dry" town, serving no alcohol anywhere on the island. Eight miles of white sand beaches and a 2.5 mile boardwalk filled with amusements, restaurants, and shops add to the family fun.
Q: What should I wear?
A: We want you to be comfortable at the conference. Feel free to wear nice casual clothes.
